Meet our teachers!
Ms. Leigh
Leigh teaches early readers. She has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and an M.Ed in Education with an emphasis in technology. She completed a Reading and Literacy Credential through USC in June 2019. Early learners and literacy are dear to her heart.
Ms. Celeste
Celeste has a Master’s of Arts in Teaching and is dually certified in Elementary and Special Education. She has a special interest in language learning and is ESOL and Reading Certified (May, 2022).

About Our Free Community Book Clubs
Curriculum
Classes are designed for early readers, ages 4-7 years old. Book clubs feature a particular children’s book or series and teach early reading and writing skills such as phonics, vocabulary, and comprehension. Our teachers incorporate movement and multisensory learning by acting out new words, using tools to learn new letters and sounds, and art to teach comprehension. Books are carefully chosen based on factors such as diversity, inclusion, and social-emotional growth. Our curriculum is research-based and built to help children grow as readers.
Accessing book club
Sign up above to access our free, downloadable book club lessons, created and recorded by literacy specialists. Book club videos, lessons, and materials are released monthly. By signing up, you get exclusive access to our library! (We encourage you to share the news with your friends and family too!) These lessons can be taken with you anywhere and are designed for children who are learning how to read or have begun their reading journey. Parents are welcome to watch the lesson with their children to learn reading strategies they can use you at home!
