We partner with schools and parents to help students become confident readers.
How We Do This
Individualized Literacy Plans for Students
Our extended learning program works with schools to identify children in TK-3 who need extra help with reading. Their families work with a Cultivating Literacy reading coach to implement Individualized Literacy Plans, which strengthen reading foundations using games and books based on the family’s cultural and linguistic background.
Literacy Workshops for Families
These gatherings are hosted by schools and led by Cultivating Literacy to support intergenerational learning. Each workshop introduces a reading strategy and provides practice through games and activities for families to take home. Our curriculum is multilingual and builds connections between home and school.
Summer Reading Program for Families
Parents partner with Cultivating Literacy during the summer to improve their child’s reading through playful and interactive activities. Families receive support from reading coaches to strengthen their children’s reading while school is not in session.
Cultivating Literacy’s programs have supported hundreds of children and their families. Whether you are an educator or parent, we can help the children you nurture grow as confident, successful, and joyful readers.
